From a family of educators, Bob Schell began teaching in 2002. Upon completing his Bachelor's in Elementary and Middle Level Education at UW-Madison, he earned a Master's in Educational Leadership and a Director of Curriculum and Instruction certification from Viterbo University.
His background includes eleven years of classroom teaching, two at the elementary level and nine in the middle school setting, during which time he coached high school and middle school sports. Bob's experiences and training include a strong emphasis in reading, writing, and math instruction. Prior to becoming a principal, he was a teacher trainer for CPM Math.
Most recently, he served eight years as principal at the same school where he completed his student teaching, Elm Lawn Elementary School of the Middleton-Cross Plains Area School District. His goal as a building principal has always been to lead a school that every student wants to attend, every parent wants to send their child(ren), and every staff member wants to work. What excites him most about joining this faith-filled community of Saint Maria Goretti is the strong history of providing students with rigorous academic standards, worship and service opportunities, and guidance and support toward healthy personal and spiritual growth.
Bob and his wife, Lisa, enjoy spending time with their family. Together they have six kids, most of whom attend Saint Maria Goretti School.
Outside of school, he enjoys reading, playing fetch with his goldendoodle, fly fishing, and coaching youth sports.
