Ken Stancer has served as the Music Teacher for grades K-3 at St. Maria Goretti Catholic School since 2023. He has taught elementary music in the Wisconsin communities of Columbus, Cambria, Friesland, Cambridge, and Madison for 33 years. He enjoys providing an environment where children can participate in and discover the joys of musical sounds.
Ken received a Bachelor of Music Education from UW-Whitewater in 1986 and a Master of Music Education from UW-Madison in 2002. In addition to classroom teaching, he has been active as a church music director and organist. He also gives lessons on piano and organ. In the last several years, he has served as the program committee chair for the Association of Church Musicians and is involved in activities which advocate for the pipe organ and promote quality church music. In the Spring of 2023, he repainted and stenciled the facade pipes on the organ at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Martinsville, WI.
When not involved in music, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, painting, gardening and bike riding. Ken loves Madison and has lived and worked in the community since 2003.
