Sydney Lindner

Playground Aide

Sydney (Syd) Lindner comes from a family of educators. Her son, mother, brother, sister-in-law, and uncle are all in the field of education. She graduated from the University of Houston with a bachelor’s degree in Journalism and earned her teaching degree at Edgewood College. Her favorite professor at Edgewood was Sister Mary Paynter, O.P. who passionately taught her students how to think critically about literature as well as the world around them.

Syd taught at the Middle School level in the Verona Area School District before leaving education to pursue a career in business. She started volunteering at Saint Maria Goretti Catholic School seven years ago when her grandchildren entered Kindergarten here. Syd later became the Playground Aide. She enjoys working on the playground with students of all ages where she implements the School’s Mission and Values to help students solve problems while enjoying physical activity.

Syd grew up in Waunakee where she was a member of Saint John the Baptist Catholic Church. She received all her sacrament there, including the Sacrament of Marriage to her husband (Bob). Syd and Bob have been married more than 35 years and enjoy spending time with their son Franci, their twin grandchildren Izzy and Ruby, as well as extended family and friends. Syd also enjoys daily walks, swimming, and traveling to warm, costal locations.
